Where Business and Women Meet

Introduction

maria_miccoliThe latest and greatest, from tweeting to blogging and back with videos, music and so much noise in between.

How do you choose which direction to take?

Sit with a teen while watching 2001 A Space Odessy and explain that when it was first written and then filmed, there was no man on the moon and no teleconferencing, the space shuttle was not even on the radar, and neither was the space station and flat screen TV’s were non existent and computers took up an entire floor so only large corporations had them.

Let’s just hope the bobble head hats and orange outfits aren’t going to be a thing of the future.  They were a little distracting.

Business has become personal.  The fine line between work and play are often grey.

A blogger is considered newsworthy yet are not considered to be journalists.

If this decade can be defined, it is of rapid change.  Three steps forward, two steps back and yet due to the economy, the “correction”, the cost of goods and labor will have dropped dramatically providing new opportunities for soloists to compete with large corporations who are now struggling to stay afloat.

I am one.

Such soloists are capable of many options with time, effort, gumption and bravery (to put yourself out there and resist the urge to apologize for not having a staff of hundreds, deep pockets, nor a Harvard degree and yet be willing to compete with all of the above…insanity and bravery in large doses).

I welcome you, warn of my sense of humor, and ask that you hold on…

…it’s going to be a bumpy ride!
